In the past year I used this area to drop all of the extra stuff that I didn’t know what to do with: dirt, pavers, tiger lilies and irises.
I knew what I wanted to do: clean it up and put our fire pit area over there. This way we would get the fire pit out of the lawn and it would give me an excuse to use all of the creek rock that I had pulled out of the gardens. The previous owners really loved to use them for outlining their flower beds.
I didn’t do a good job of making it even, though. To be fair I was tired and had already done a TON of work.
Once I had everything kind of even (which really didn’t end up being even at all), Jay and I laid down the concrete pavers for the fire pit to sit on. Then Jay’s mom and I situated the creek rock to make a sort of patio area. Again, it turns out that I didn’t do a good job of making sure that the dirt was even. Oh well.
And I still have some area that I need to fill in. I think that between the rocks currently being used as my front sidewalk, and the mulch that I have left over from my flower gardens, this will fill in okay.
I don’t know.
What do you think?
